Job Title: Special Education Assistant

YES Prep Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team. As a Special Education Assistant, you will work closely with our special education teachers to provide individualized support to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist special education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings
  • Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors
  • Maintain accurate data on student progress and IEP goals
  • Support teachers in tailoring lessons to meet individual student needs
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Provide personal care services for students as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Current Educational Aide certification or minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education
  • Ability to physically assist students with self-help, mobility, academic, and behavioral skills
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools
