Direct Support Professional, I and II Caregiver Apple Valley

At Redwood Family Care Network, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional, I and II Caregiver to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support and advocacy to adults with developmental disabilities in our care.
Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional, I and II Caregiver will assist adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives, providing complete care of dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs. You will also redirect behaviors with various activities, including walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
Responsibilities:- Assist clients with bathroom needs and change undergarments and/or clothing as needed.
- Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
- Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).
- Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
- Redirect behaviors with various activities, including walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, CPI, DSP 1 & DSP 2 preferred.
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (e.g. Autism) or mental illnesses (e.g. Bipolar) with challenging behaviors strongly preferred.
- Minimum Driving Experience: Must have a valid in-state driver's license, be over 21, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
The Direct Support Professional, I and II Caregiver will work in a home-based setting, providing support to adults with developmental disabilities. The work environment will be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
