Position Overview:
Are you enthusiastic about nurturing young minds? Have you ever envisioned guiding your own class and sharing your passions? If so, REEF is the ideal environment for you. Washington Yu Ying's REEF program is on the lookout for open-minded, energetic, and engaging individuals who wish to positively influence children's lives.
Lead Educators will be responsible for overseeing a classroom of approximately 15 students in our before and after school enrichment initiative. They will design and execute their own lesson plans with assistance from Team Leads and Managers. Lead Educators will operate under the guidance of the Director of REEF, REEF Operations Managers, and/or Team Leads.Essential Responsibilities:
Oversee and assist in the coordination of before and aftercare (REEF) programs for designated classrooms.
Administer the daily operations of REEF activities.
Collaborate with REEF Operations Managers and relevant staff to ensure aftercare classes, activities, field trips, etc. are suitable for the age group and align with the school's mission and curriculum.
Ensure student safety during aftercare activities on campus and during monthly field trips.
Engage students fully in the REEF classes each period.
Supervise transitions between classes and group play.
Address student behavior issues in REEF programs.
Document and communicate with parents promptly.
Apply the school-wide student discipline policy consistently with all students.
Provide snacks to students, record snack counts, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding snack procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas and materials used during REEF programs.Contribute to the enhancement of REEF programs and staff.
Ensure necessary materials are available for classes each day.
Assist REEF Managers in developing new and special classes and drafting new class guidelines and descriptions.
Collaborate with school administration to establish and implement processes and procedures that uphold the quality, security, and safety of REEF programs.
Support other REEF operational efforts as needed.Assist with additional school operational tasks as requested.
Participate in various projects and tasks associated with the overall operation of a public charter school and its extracurricular programs, as may be requested by appropriate personnel.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree, or a combination of college coursework and experience preferred.
Strongly preferred experience and knowledge in before-and-aftercare program administration.
Basic technology skills required, e.g., Google Suite, particularly GMail. Experience with Mac is preferred.
Must be a self-motivated individual with effective time management skills, capable of working independently, and possessing problem-solving and crisis management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong motivational capabilities.A warm, friendly, and energetic demeanor; ability to connect well with children and staff.

This role is based on-site and will expand to include another campus, resulting in interaction with students, parents, and staff.
