Certified Medical Assistant I

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant I to join our team at OU Health. As a key member of our ambulatory care team, you will provide direct patient care and administrative support to healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by providers and clinical supervisors.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and contribute to the assessment/re-assessment of patients.
  • Monitor and document patient status, manage large call volumes, and maintain excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Organize workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner, retrieve and transport medications, instruments, and supplies, and follow standard precautions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in patient care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Possess one of the following certifications: Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel, and others.
