We are currently in search of a dedicated SMA Operations Trading Specialist to support our expanding portfolio of SMA assets. The ideal candidate will have a background in SMA trading operations, though we are open to considering candidates with relevant experience who demonstrate a strong willingness to learn. Success in this role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trades promptly and accurately to ensure efficient settlement processes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliation reports.
- Address and rectify failed trades effectively.
- Communicate with counterparties and sponsors to resolve unmatched trade instructions, thereby minimizing operational risks.
- Timely escalation of issues as necessary.
- Engage regularly with portfolio managers and investment teams to ensure alignment on trade and account specifics.
- Collaborate with team members to provide support across various asset classes as needed.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative team setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capacity to work autonomously in a high-energy environment.
- Willingness to maintain a presence in the office.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of the trading lifecycle, including confirmation, affirmation, and settlement processes is preferred.
- Experience with APL systems and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) is a plus.
- 0 to 5 years of experience in SMA trading operations; direct SMA experience is advantageous but related roles will also be considered.
