WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program Coordinator

As a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for administering the breastfeeding peer counseling program. This includes planning, implementing, and evaluating local WIC agency peer counseling activities. You will oversee the training, evaluation, and mentoring of peer counselors, providing breastfeeding support and education to clients and staff served by the Linn County Department of Health services and other healthcare providers in Linn County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement breastfeeding peer counseling programs
- Train and evaluate peer counselors
- Provide breastfeeding support and education to clients and staff
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders
Requirements:
- Graduation from a senior high school required
- Graduation from an approved school of nursing or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Health, Nutrition, Nursing, or a related field of study preferred
- Certification from the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLE) examiners preferred
