Job Summary:
As a Senior Patient Access Representative at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless financial interactions between patients, insurance providers, and our healthcare organization. This position requires a high level of expertise in financial counseling, billing, and collection of accounts, as well as exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit insurance claims electronically and on paper, following up on unpaid claims to resolution.
- Evaluate and process accounts for adjustments, charity, outside assistance, or bad debt, ensuring full reimbursement and satisfying patient and/or insurance company inquiries.
- Collect balances due from patients using phone calls, personal contact, statements, letters, or third-party services.
- Receive, process, and respond to correspondence or phone inquiries from patients, guarantors, insurance companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
- Compile data, track results, and report to management, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
- May be assigned specialty responsibilities in areas such as refunds, reconciliation, balancing, and/or posting, as well as data collection and analysis.
- Handle difficult patient account management issues referred by other staff, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Assist managers with various duties, including review of write-offs, adjustments, refunds, and discounts, coordinating work group activities, and training other staff.
