We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Verifier to join our team at Northside Hospital Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Contact insurance companies to verify patient eligibility and coverage for hospital admission.
- Initiate pre-certification process and obtain approval of confinement.
- Work closely with Financial Counselors to evaluate patient insurance coverage.
- Document patient benefits and financial responsibility.
- Review admission documents for accuracy.
- Monitor department backlog and assume additional workload as needed.
- Practice proper safety techniques and report any equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
- 2 years of experience in insurance verification, pre-certification, billing, or related insurance position.
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with others.
- Good communication skills and basic typing ability.
- PREFERRED: 3 years of experience in insurance verification or related insurance position, 2 years of college with an emphasis in Business, completed medical terminology course.
