Key Responsibilities

Operate vehicles equipped with both automatic and manual transmissions.

All brake services must adhere to the Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards.

  • Skillfully utilize lifting equipment, including jacks, jack stands, and hoists.
  • Conduct thorough disc or drum brake services, which encompass hydraulic repairs/replacements, hardware attachment (removal/replacement), front-end suspension work, light drivetrain repairs, wheel bearing services, and anti-lock brake/electrical systems, along with wheel/tire removal and replacement.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of brake lathe equipment.
  • Participate in ongoing training as required; stay informed about advancements in automotive brake repair, including new technologies and methodologies for effective vehicle diagnostics.
  • Maintain proficiency with both traditional and advanced hand tools.
  • Repair, overhaul, and adjust automotive brake systems as necessary.
  • Address defective ball joint suspensions, brake shoes, and wheel bearings through repair or replacement.
  • Diagnose vehicle issues; prepare repair-cost estimates, and obtain customer consent for repairs.

Expected Outcomes

  • All services performed on customer vehicles must be executed with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
  • Capability to conduct diagnostics related to Brakes, Steering, and Suspension.
  • Every inspection will be meticulous, accurate, and comprehensive; the brake inspection report will be completed to the best of the Brake Specialist's knowledge and presented to the customer.
  • All inspection findings must be translated into an estimate sheet and communicated to the customer promptly.
  • Brake Specialists will be tasked with generating repair estimates.
  • Brake Specialists will demonstrate proficiency in operating and maintaining the Pro-Cut brake lathe.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers warmly.
  • Handle incoming phone inquiries.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the building and equipment.
  • Restock supplies as needed.
  • Inflate tires in stock.
  • Clean windows and other surfaces.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Possession of A5 ASE brake certification.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be capable of:

  • Working in extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, depending on the season.
  • Quickly navigating stairs (8.5-ft. vertical decline, approximately 14 stair steps).
  • Operating safely around moving vehicles and machinery; adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Effectively communicating with colleagues in a noisy environment.
  • Interacting clearly with customers in a busy setting.
  • Bending at the hips to work under vehicle hoods.
  • Performing deep knee bends (squats) to inflate tires.
  • Standing for extended periods, up to 10-hour shifts.
  • Lifting a minimum of 40 pounds regularly.
  • Raising arms above head frequently.
  • Using a broom for cleaning tasks.
