Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America. As a key member of our dialysis healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines
- Conduct vascular access cannulation and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law
- Obtain necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight, and perform vascular access evaluation
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, including blood flow and dialysate flow
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or directed
- Document patient information accurately and timely, including vital signs and treatment parameters
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
