Production Supervisor

As a key member of the Operations team, the Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and develop production staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Prioritize employee safety and food safety and quality through the training, coaching, and enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Gemba, 5S, and other daily management systems.
- Establish a strong safety culture by actively participating in the safety committee, conducting safety investigations, and providing safety training.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resources.
- Monitor the work of employees, provide feedback, and perform coaching or counseling as needed.
- Develop and implement cost-reduction strategies and improve workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, and observing control points and equipment.
- Communicate and coordinate between departments, including quality, R&D, warehouse, maintenance, and production.
- Report daily production KPIs in the daily operation meeting, shift meetings, and shift production scorecard.
- Create and revise work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) by analyzing operating practices and implementing change management.
- Manage new employee onboarding, training, and operator certification.
- Take ownership of inventory throughout assigned areas, plan layout, and maintain FIFO and inventory control using ERP systems.
- Monitor production consumption and ensure process orders are completed and closed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage budgeted cost lines, including labor, supplies, and raw materials, in corresponding software and ERP systems.
- Resolve quality holds, mechanical breakdowns, and safety accidents by initiating and leading Root Cause Analysis and using other problem-solving tools.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of relative work experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Inventory control experience required.
- Knowledge of lean six sigma and GMP and Food Manufacturing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and ERP systems (SAP).
