Job Overview:
The Fabrication Technician will be tasked with mastering all operations related to the production floor, including competencies in Cutting, Grooving, Hole Cutting, and Assembly, as well as familiarity with cataloging and shop floor platforms (Mendix) under the guidance of a certified instructor.
The Technician will collaborate closely with the team lead to uphold all company policies and procedures. Responsibilities may shift based on operational requirements.Key Responsibilities:
Daily
- Ensure a safe working environment and report all incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to the lead or management.
- Maintain punctuality and attendance.
- Conduct daily operations on the production floor.
- Meet quality standards as established by Victaulic.
- Follow the current project timeline and manage materials effectively.
- Proficiently execute all tasks associated with the fabrication cell.
- Complete all daily checklists and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks.
- Achieve certification on all necessary equipment.
- Complete all 5S responsibilities.
- Adhere to all established policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the lead or management.
- Monitor and understand personal performance metrics.
- Be accountable for all TPM tasks and checklists.
- Address any project-related issues promptly.
- Achieve all set objectives.
- Ensure completion of all TPM tasks.
- Collaborate with the Fabrication lead on the FEM process.
- Obtain certification in at least one 5S FEM discipline.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School diploma is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.
- Prior experience operating forklifts.
- Forklift certification for all specified equipment (to be obtained post-employment).
- Experience with forklift-mounted computers and barcode scanners (training available on the job).
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
