Position Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Estimator to contribute to our projects at Zocalozocalo. The successful candidate will be tasked with evaluating project designs and specifications, interpreting blueprints, and generating precise cost assessments. The Estimator will collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and various stakeholders to ensure comprehensive cost coverage and timely proposal submissions.

Primary Responsibilities:


• Blueprint Evaluation: Analyze and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to ascertain project needs.


• Cost Assessment: Create thorough cost assessments for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.


• Proposal Development: Formulate and present competitive bids and proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).


• Coordination with Contractors: Engage with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and ensure accuracy in estimates.


• Documentation Management: Keep precise records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.


• Budget Oversight: Assist in tracking project budgets to ensure alignment with initial cost estimates.


• Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining project quality and specifications.


• Risk Evaluation: Assess potential risks and challenges related to project costs and timelines.


• Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure project coherence.

Required Qualifications:


• Experience: At least 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction or a related field.


• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents. Strong familiarity with estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Communication Abilities: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with contractors, suppliers, and team members.


• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and precision in preparing estimates and bids.


• Analytical Skills: Ability to identify potential challenges and devise effective solutions.


• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
