Position Overview

In this role, you will assist mathematics instructors with classroom presentations and provide support in computer laboratories for students. You will be responsible for maintaining technology and computers used in classrooms as well as in the Math Department's computer labs. Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Current or entering full-time (6 credit hours) matriculated graduate student at Buffalo State College.
  • Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
  • Demonstrated interest in computer technology and a willingness to learn new skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), communication software, and Computer Algebra Systems (CAS).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML for maintaining the department's web page and UNIX for routine maintenance of the LINUX lab.
  • Familiarity with multimedia software such as iMovie and Adobe Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field in Science or Computers.
