Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary:
This role requires a detail-oriented individual to perform manual and clerical duties in loading and unloading shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and be able to accurately count and verify incoming and outgoing shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload materials, parts, supplies, tools, and equipment from carriers and company vehicles, and route items to proper destinations within the facility.
- Identify materials, parts, tools, and items, and mark, tag, and/or code them as necessary.
- Operate fork-lifts and company trucks to 1 1/2 tons, making pick-ups and deliveries in local and LA areas.
- Count, package, and protect parts and tooling for shipment, and construct pallets and crates for shipment of items.
- Check loading and unloading of equipment/parts for safety, and balance and secure loads to company vehicles or carriers.
- Verify pickup and delivery orders by checking description, part/tool numbers, and quantities, and handle necessary paperwork.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.
Requirements:
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing environment of shipping & receiving.
- Ability to accurately count and verify shipments.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to work with others and follow instructions of Shop Supervisor.
- Ability to maintain computer logs and records.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write English of a level required to fulfill essential job functions.
Pay and Benefits:
$29.86/hour
