Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Linear Accelerator Technician to join our team at Piedmont HealthCare. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining medical linear accelerators, simulators, and other equipment used in the Radiation Oncology Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced equipment repairs on Linear Accelerators, CT, workstations, and other devices in the Linac work area.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of system problems and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and customers, including physicists, physicians, and dosimetrists, regarding equipment.
  • Ensure regulatory documentation is up-to-date and compliant.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Medical Electronics, BioMed, Electronic Technology, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience performing corrective and preventative maintenance on high-tech diagnostic equipment, with three years directly related experience maintaining and servicing medical linear accelerators.
  • Specific experience on Varian linacs and authorized Varian training are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASEE certification or equivalent.
  • Certified Radiology Equipment Service (CRES) preferred but not required.
  • Vendor training preferred.
  • Completion of certified training from Varian.
