Instructional Laboratory Technician

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a highly skilled Instructional Laboratory Technician to join the Department of Biological Sciences. As a key member of the team, you will provide technical services and support for the instructional laboratory program, ensuring the smooth operation of our state-of-the-art facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support for instructional labs, including setup and maintenance of equipment and supplies;
  • Preparing chemical solutions, cultures, media, reagents, or other materials for use in instructional laboratory experiments;
  • Scheduling and overseeing setups and maintenance of one or more instructional labs;
  • Organizing and maintaining supplies and monitoring inventory levels and ordering chemicals, supplies, and equipment as needed;
  • Ensuring compliance with guidelines for hazardous waste disposal.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a natural science;
  • Two years of experience in specialized/technical training is preferred.
  • Combined experience and education may substitute for minimum education requirements.
Hourly Range:

The hourly rate range for this position is $21.88 - $27.31.
