Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clinical Specimen Accessioner to join our team at LabCorp. As a key member of our Specimen Processing and Accessioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory specimen processing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Preparation: Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately documented.
  • Specimen Routing: Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Specimen Identification: Accurately identify and label specimens, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately documented.
  • Specimen Shipping: Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Departmental Goals: Meet departmental activity and production goals, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Excess Specimen Storage: Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately documented.
  • Data Entry: Enter patient information into our database in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately documented.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve and document any problem specimens, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately documented.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; 1-2 years preferred.
  • Skills: Previous medical or production experience is a plus. Comfortable handling biological specimens. Ability to accurately identify specimens. Experience working in a team environment. Strong data entry and organizational skills. High level of attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to lift up to 40lbs. Ability to pass a standardized color blind test.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $17-$20 per hour, plus a 3rd shift differential. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(K), ESPP, paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), commissions, and company bonus where applicable.
