- Label, wrap, and date food items for proper storage.
- Receive, store, and rotate supplies as they arrive.
- Cook meals according to established menus.
- Conduct daily checks of food storage areas to ensure proper rotation.
- Utilize and maintain cooking and food preparation equipment.
- Guide, motivate, supervise, and assess kitchen staff in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform general and assigned sanitation tasks in kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure food service meets the needs of our residents.
- Uphold confidentiality regarding all resident information.
- Report any exposure to hazardous materials to the appropriate personnel.
- Prepare food in compliance with sanitary regulations and company policies.
- Exhibit a courteous and responsible demeanor towards staff, residents, and visitors.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to foster a supportive work environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
- Execute all job responsibilities in alignment with safety and infection control policies.
- Conduct all duties in a manner that reflects the mission, vision, and core values of our organization.
A High School Diploma is preferred. Previous experience in food preparation within a long-term care environment is advantageous. Completion of Serve Safe and allergen training is required.
