Overview:

Conducts assessments, diagnoses, and formulates treatment plans for auditory impairments in children. Offers comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative services, including but not limited to visual reinforcement audiometry, conditioned play audiometry, conventional audiometry, otoacoustic emissions, auditory brainstem response, acoustic immittance testing, earmolds, hearing aids, bone-conduction hearing aids, and cochlear implants.

Key Responsibilities:


• Adhere to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Conduct thorough interviews with guardians prior to formal assessments.

• Select suitable evaluations based on patient history and referral reasons.

• Perform routine and specialized diagnostic assessments.

• Evaluate communication abilities through observation and informal interactions.

• Deliver precise diagnoses and actionable recommendations.

• Effectively communicate findings to guardians.

• Provide educational resources and support to parents.

• Coordinate follow-up care for patients at risk of hearing loss.

• Recommend appropriate interventions, including amplification, therapy, referrals, and educational adjustments.

• Engage families in care planning and educational initiatives.

• Demonstrate understanding of developmental milestones and growth progression.

• Accurately interpret age-specific audiometric data.

• Utilize age-appropriate communication styles with patients.

• Ensure safety and injury prevention measures are in place.

• Operate age-appropriate assessment and treatment equipment.

• Provide emotional and psychosocial support aligned with the patient's developmental stage.

• Recognize and respond to signs of abuse or neglect appropriately.

• Maintain organized, safe, and professional workspaces.

• Complete documentation and billing in accordance with departmental guidelines.

• Prepare clear and concise reports using established templates.

• Manage personal schedule to enhance productivity.

• Supervise practicum students or 4th year AuD candidates (optional, stipend available for additional skills).

• Participate in cochlear implant programs (optional, stipend available for additional skills).

• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient information.

• Maintain confidentiality at all times.

• Utilize effective oral and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and positively.

• Follow established policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

• Implement responsibilities in alignment with the organization's mission and ethical standards.

• Support and uphold service guarantees.

• Execute duties with minimal supervision.

• Perform additional related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD) is mandatory.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Pediatric experience or externship is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • ASHA or ABA certification is mandatory.
  • Active Audiology Licensure in the state of practice is required.

Work Schedule:

8AM - 5PM, Monday to Friday
