Job Summary:

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the TOSH Specialty Clinic. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting wellness, improving outcomes, and self-care within a defined population of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and document assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard.
  • Develop patient's Plan of Care (POC) per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.
  • Evaluate the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Administer medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Verify and evaluate care delivered to ensure it is consistent with patient and family centered care principles, practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff.
  • Provide effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
  • Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.
  • Participate in recruitment/retention of staff.
  • Facilitate development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Associate's degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nursing experience.
  • Valid Registered Nursing License.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong work ethics and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years RN experience with two (2) year experience in a clinical environment preferred.
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
