Transportation Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the daily activities of our delivery operation at our Glendale Heights distribution center. This role will work in unison with our transportation supervisor in the distribution center and will also accept transportation manager responsibilities in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling line haul departures and daily routing of deliveries
  • Loading of truck shipments and dock security and cleanliness
  • Fleet maintenance and readiness, scheduling management, and DOT requirements
  • Assisting sales and customer service, training of fleet drivers, and travel to cross-dock locations
  • Driver ride-alongs and performance management of direct reports

Requirements

  • 2+ years of operational experience, including 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Class C or above required, with 1-2+ years of transportation experience and preferred Class A license
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with ability to train and take part in driver ride-alongs
  • Knowledge of RoadNet and Netradyne preferred

Physical Requirements

  • General office demands, distribution center environment, and ride-alongs with line haul drivers
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
