Atrium Health Navicent is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join its team in Macon, Georgia.

Job Overview

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for acquiring, processing, and submitting medical images for interpretation. You will work under indirect supervision to provide high-quality patient care while ensuring the diagnostic quality of finished medical images.

  • You will position patients and select appropriate protocols to demonstrate anatomy, judging the diagnostic quality of images and processing preliminary reports.
  • You will customize each exam based on accepted ultrasound principles, applying independent judgment to ensure accurate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are captured.
  • You will review diagnostic requests for appropriateness, communicate with ordering providers, and resolve concerns with the interpreting physician.
  • You will provide patient history and/or codes for all ultrasound procedures, perform clerical responsibilities, and offer detailed explanations to patients.
  • You will observe patients while in the ultrasound department and make appropriate interventions or contact primary caregivers for instruction.
  • You will maintain equipment to ensure conformance with operational standards and ensure all critical occurrences are reported to the next level of authority.
Requirements
  • You must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, vascular or cardiovascular ultrasound program, or BS in Ultrasound is preferred.
  • Registry eligible through ARDMS or ARRT, with registry required within one year of employment.
