Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in Transfusion/Tissue Services. As a key member of our Blood Bank Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory examinations and tests, including specialized or experimental procedures, to ensure rapid and accurate results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and consultation to all Blood Bank Labs in the Navicent Health system.
  • Perform immunohematology testing, compatibility testing for blood product administration, volume reduction, and irradiation of appropriate blood products.
  • Store, dispense, and track tissue products.
  • Ensure accreditation standards are followed at all Navicent facility Blood Bank Labs for FDA, AABB, DNV, DCH, and CAP.
  • Assure technical competency of Navicent Blood Bank employees.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 30 quarter hours of lecture and lab courses in chemical, physical, and/or biological science.
  • Master's Degree/SBB (Specialist Blood Bank) required.
  • Minimum 5 years of Blood Bank experience required.
  • Registration as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLS, CLT, CLS) by the Board of Registry as ASCP or AMT.
