Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing and assisting in ultrasound examinations, working closely with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certification and Licensure: Must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Ultrasound Examination: Performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, ensuring high-quality images and accurate diagnoses
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel
  • Patient Care: Prepares and examines patients, verifying their identity and medical history, and communicating with patients and staff
  • Procedure Planning: Develops and modifies procedure plans based on patient health status and medical history, using independent professional judgment to optimize exam results
  • Image Analysis: Analyzes sonographic findings to obtain comprehensive exams sufficient for a physician to direct patient management and render a diagnosis
  • Record Keeping: Records diagnostic images and data for use by interpreting physicians and for archival purposes
  • Team Collaboration: Works collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of office and administrative practices
  • Skill in use of personal computers and software
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion
