About the Role

O'Fallon Buick GMC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced GMC Technician to join our team. As a GMC Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of GMC vehicles to ensure they are operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Diagnostics: Diagnose vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on GMC vehicles, including engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, and HVAC systems.
  • Inspections and Recommendations: Conduct multi-point inspections to identify potential problems and provide recommendations to customers.
  • Warranty Repairs: Perform warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Technical Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest GMC technical bulletins, recall information, and repair procedures.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Documentation: Provide accurate documentation of repairs, services, and parts used in the dealership's management system.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to explain necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Quality and Safety: Uphold high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • ASE Certification: ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with GMC vehicles.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and software.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
