Entergy's Power Generation division manages a diverse fleet of over 30 owned, leased, or operated facilities, including natural gas, coal, oil, hydro, solar, and petroleum coke plants, with a combined engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. We are actively expanding our portfolio with new hydrogen-capable natural gas units, solar, wind, and other technologies to enhance our existing nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric, and solar facilities.
*This position may be filled as a Maintenance Operator (MO), MO 1, 2, 3, 4, Journeyman Maintenance Operator (JMO), or MO Tech based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.*
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Under general supervision, with some latitude for planning and executing work details, candidates must be capable of performing basic mechanical tasks related to the inspection, repair, installation, testing, adjustment, and calibration of meters and instruments, as well as automatic combustion control equipment in generating stations.
- Ability to perform basic electrical work involving the inspection, repair, or installation of electrical equipment in generating stations and substations.
- Competence in executing mechanical tasks related to the inspection, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment in generating stations.
- Responsibility for operating equipment within a central controlled turbo-generator-boiler system during a designated shift.
- Depending on the employee's primary skill set, the role may involve performing complex mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation and control tasks.
MO: No prior experience required.
JMO - MO Tech: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
- Familiarity with basic principles of mechanical measuring devices, instruments, controls, and regulating devices used in generating plants.
- Proficiency in using standard tools and equipment.
- Ability to understand and perform tasks of moderate complexity where standard procedures are available.
- Knowledge of steam boilers, turbo-generators, pumps, heaters, and their auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to visualize and sketch main piping systems from memory.
- Understanding of rotating electrical equipment, switches, transformers, and control equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to administer first aid.
- Familiarity with fire-fighting equipment.
MO: Minimum age of 18.
JMO - MO Tech: Minimum age requirements apply.
- Must possess full mental and physical capabilities.
- Strength and endurance for demanding labor as required.
- Alertness in observing hazards and preventing accidents.
