  • Perform daily inspections of equipment and make minor repairs.
  • Report defective equipment or take corrective action.
  • Perform routine oral prophylaxis of the clinical crowns of teeth.
  • Use dental hand instruments, mechanical instruments, oral hygiene aides, and prophylaxis paste to provide necessary oral prophylactic services.
  • Prepare entries for patient records.
  • Select and apply medication in the proper portion and anti-cariogenic agents to the surface of teeth.
  • Apply medication prescribed by a Dental Officer to the gingiva to promote healing.
  • Fabricate and repair dental prosthesis and appliances under supervision.
  • Perform procedures pursuant to fabrication and repair of complete denture prosthesis and removable partial prosthesis.
  • Use acrylic resins and porcelain as basic materials.
  • Take radiographs of patients using standard and digital dental radiographic, panipse, cephalometric, and transcranial equipment.
  • Obtain diagnostic quality periapical, occlusal, lateral, jaw, TMJ, and panographic radiographs.
  • Correctly position patients and film.
  • Determine the level of radiation intensity to minimize radiation exposure of patients.
  • Process and save digital radiographs to patient medical records.
  • Perform quality assurances on radiographic and developing equipment and safelight.
  • Maintain proper infection control procedures in radiographic techniques.
  • Sterilize contaminated biological waste of the dental clinic.
  • Place and finish dental restorations, including bases and liners.
  • Make primary impressions and pour casts.
  • Select tooth shade for composite restorations and dentures.
Requirements
  • Possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school.
  • Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience providing Dental Assistant services.
  • Be Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certified through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
