Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze detailed business requirements to align customer expectations with current or future cloud capabilities.
  • Map project business requirements to technical requirements, ensuring they align with enterprise architectural plans and industry best practices.
  • Design architectures and partner with engineering teams to deliver business value through technical solutions.
  • Lead, direct, and produce technical designs/architectures at a project, product, and program level, with expertise in disaster recovery, data integrity, service continuity, component redundancy, security, and more.
  • Participate in and lead high and low-level design discussions with management, vendors, and tech leads.
  • Ensure solutions and new features are designed and implemented according to established design and architectural standards and practices.
  • Document and communicate designs to different stakeholders using modeling and documentation standards.
  • Lead software developers in application design and pattern, providing reference applications/architectures.
  • Collaborate with execution teams to provide timely recommendations and drive solution design to the best possible outcomes.
  • Develop technology capability roadmaps to frame long-term IT strategy, analyzing the landscape for critical deficiencies or gaps.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry with hands-on development experience and expertise in at least one technology stack.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software/Solutions Architect.
  • Expertise in Web Services (REST), API Design, ORM, Spring MVC, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Cloud Computing Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and Containerization Technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Contract First/Design First Software Development for Microservices and Data Products, and CI/CD using the Service & Data Contracts.
  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery of software products with a large user base.
  • Thorough understanding of Microservice, Data Mesh Architecture, and Cloud Native Architecture.
  • Clear understanding of quality attributes and different strategies, patterns, and methodology to satisfy them.
  • Experience leading multiple dependent, parallel work streams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • A systems thinker, able to move fluidly between high-level abstract thinking and detail-oriented implementation.
  • Ability to independently research, assess, and compare new technologies, platforms, or tools and determine potential use for AutoZone.
  • A self-starter that is naturally inquisitive, requiring only small pieces to the puzzle, across many technologies, both new and legacy.
  • A fact-driven decision maker, with an ability to make quick decisions in uncertain circumstances.
  • Broad and deep understanding of industry standard concepts, patterns of application architecture, patterns of architecture change, methodologies, and principles.
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying large-scale, highly available, robust software solutions, particularly using Service-Based and Event-Based Architectures.
  • Experience with Cloud Providers, Hybrid Cloud. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred and multi-cloud a plus.
  • Supply Chain domain knowledge is desirable.
