Overview:

The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing a range of MRI and MRA procedures while ensuring patient safety protocols are followed. This role involves assisting Radiologists in both diagnostic and therapeutic tasks.

The MRI Technologist will engage with patients professionally, serving as the primary point of contact to address their imaging requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough checks of diagnosis, prescriptions, Epic orders, and patient identification, as evidenced by documentation.


Welcome patients, confirming their identities, and clearly explaining the procedures to both patients and their families.


Gather patient histories, screen for prior surgeries and implanted devices, explain procedures, obtain consent for contrast, verify GFR as necessary, and address any patient concerns as demonstrated by documentation and feedback.

Administer Angio catheters and inject IV MRI contrast agents as directed by the Radiologist.


Operate the MRI scanner, including all RF coils, MRI workstations, patient monitoring equipment, and MR injectors to produce high-quality images.

Archive and verify MRI images to hard-copy format as required.

Conduct quality assurance testing in accordance with departmental protocols.

Monitor patients' status, tolerance, and wellbeing throughout the imaging process.

Assist Radiologists, physicians, and other team members in completing procedures in line with established protocols.

Adhere to OSHA, TJC, DOH, and other mandated safety regulations.

Maintain necessary inventory supplies for the workstation, ensuring stock is rotated and outdated items are removed.

Respond to emergency situations following departmental policies.

Foster and maintain positive working relationships within the facility and with external clients of our services.

Communicate any equipment issues and image quality concerns.

Qualifications:
Must hold ARRT MRI certification OR be registered with ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB and obtain ARRT MRI certification within 12 months of employment (Required)

Maintain Continuing Education Units (Required)

CPR Certification (Required)

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED (Required)

Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program (Required)
