Electrical Test Engineer Job Description

This role is located in the metro Milwaukee area, specifically in Wauwatosa, WI, and is part of one of the world's most renowned and respected motorcycle manufacturers at their Product Development Center.

The opportunity is initially on a 12-month contract basis, with the possibility of extending up to 3 years. There is also the chance to become a direct employee of the client at any point during the contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement electrical system architecture, ensuring that all components meet or exceed their function within the architecture.
  • Evaluate and report the performance of electrical systems and individual components, both subjectively and objectively.
  • Resolve technical issues related to performance and integration between system components and the client.
  • Manage development and risk through DFMEA and DVP&R, including review and approval of supplier PPAP and controls plans.
  • Develop and maintain program-specific requirements documentation within the client and between the client and supplier.
  • Verify system performance to company standards, approve supplier validation, and work with test and verification entities to ensure the system meets or exceeds targets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Three or more years of experience creating and developing test plans for electrical components.
  • Prior Project Management Experience is Required.
  • Experience collaborating with 3rd Party Testing Labs.
  • Prior experience authoring requirements and test plan campaigns for electronic sensor systems.
  • Proven history meeting EMC and environmental requirements for vehicle systems.
  • Experience with industry-standard signal interface protocols (both physical layer and data-link layer).
  • Ability to manage translation from vehicle-level requirements to component-level test results.
