We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiothoracic ICU team at UPMC. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with medical staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including administering medications and IV therapy, and performing and documenting procedures safely and accurately.
- Assess and reassess patients regularly, evaluating and documenting their needs and progress.
- Develop and implement care plans, prioritizing patient needs and coordinating with community agencies and other professionals as needed.
- Engage in team discussions and utilize systems such as Bed Management System, Alpha, CPOE, and other relevant computer systems efficiently.
- Teach and educate patients and families based on their needs, and contribute to the education of staff and students.
- Consult and lead other healthcare team members, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
- Must hold a current license to practice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Must satisfactorily complete the Nursing Department's orientation program and probationary period.
- CPR certification required based on AHA standards, including both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
