Job Description

Redmond Technology Partners is seeking a skilled User Experience (UX) Designer to join its Merchandising team. The ideal candidate will have expert visual design skills and a broad range of UX generalist skills, including user research, information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design exceptional user experiences for multiple products concurrently.
  • Solve complex design problems through a user-centered design process that accounts for user goals, business requirements, and development needs.
  • Use iterative design methods to drive thoughtful design decisions, including sketches, process flows, wireframes, and interactive simulations/prototypes.
  • Analyze and evaluate current user interfaces and propose usability improvements.
  • Conduct competitive analysis research to better understand prevalent interaction designs/solutions.
  • Create interactive simulations/prototypes to help project teams, stakeholders, and users explore and understand proposed business solutions.
  • Maintain and enforce UX style guides, UI standards, and interaction design pattern libraries.
  • Mentor and aid junior designers in the design process by providing guidance and feedback to ensure growth in UX disciplines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in UX design, visual design, interaction design, or a similar role.
  • Expert knowledge of design tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in selecting appropriate UI patterns and applying UCD methodologies to effectively solve design problems.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design principles, techniques, and frameworks.
  • Creative and pragmatic problem solver with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills to clearly communicate design decisions and influence business process owners and stakeholders.
  • Iteratively refine designs based on feedback and collaboration with executives, managers, and peers.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed.
  • Strategic thinker able to act tactically and solve problems quickly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Aware of current and emerging industry trends and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of accessible design principles and familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating the ability to create great user-centered design solutions.
