Job Title: Construction Assistant

Spear Corp is seeking a highly skilled Construction Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the construction of pools, splash pads, and other water features
  • Load and unload materials and stage the job site daily
  • Follow direction from the Project Superintendent or Construction Manager
  • Participate in demolitions
  • Mix concrete
  • Read blueprints/drawings and have the ability to plan the layout of plumbing
  • May perform welding if qualified
  • Cut, assemble, and install piping to the manufacturer's specifications
  • Remove hazardous materials
  • Operate various tools such as saws, grinders, mixers, lasers, compactors, drills, etc. Be able to use these tools safely
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment when the use of them is complete
  • Secure the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
  • Obtain and return all tools and parts using the proper methods
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related work experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight 75% of the time
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Understand the need for confidentiality and discretion; position may be exposed to sensitive information
  • Be willing and able to follow direction
  • Excellent phone etiquette, communication, and organizational skills
  • Punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Customer service driven
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, resolve issues, and meet deadlines
  • Motivated self-starter and team player with excellent attention to detail
Competencies:
  • Adaptability: Adapts well to changes in work schedules. Is open to new ways of doing things.
