Job Title: Mental Health Clinician

CASES is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our Young Adult Assertive Community Treatment (YA ACT) team. Our team provides mobile community-based mental health treatment to promote recovery and community integration of individuals aged 18-25 with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily team meetings to discuss clients' clinical and case management issues and needs;
  • Complete required documentation for NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's (DOHMH) licensing guidelines, NYS Medicaid billing guidelines, and CASES ACT Policy and Procedures;
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments using standardized screening instruments for substance use, suicidality, and violence risk;
  • Develop treatment plans using a person-centered approach and identify necessary services for clients;
  • Collaborate with family, friends, and other service providers on clients' substance use treatment, post-hospital-discharge care coordination, housing needs, entitlements support, educational/vocational training, social support, and primary care needs;
  • Deliver services using motivational interviewing, recovery, and trauma-informed approaches;
  • Provide 24-hour crisis intervention on-call services on a rotating basis;
  • Complete expected minimum monthly treatment contacts, including leading substance use treatment groups when clinically indicated;
  • Provide culturally competent services in accordance with CASES policies and practice.
Requirements:
  • LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, with current New York State license;
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders;
  • Experience with various evidence-based models pertaining to treatment of substance use and mental illness;
  • Extensive knowledge of Assertive Community Treatment, community integrated treatment, support services, and resources;
  • Highly organized and self-motivated;
  • Proficient in computers.
