Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Engineering Applications Specialist (BSME preferred) to become a vital part of our engineering team. In this position, you will be instrumental in facilitating the advancement of future NET Power Technologies facilities by identifying and crafting solutions for potential clients utilizing NET Power's innovative platform technology, in collaboration with both technical and commercial teams.

This role will operate within a hybrid work environment, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the engineering liaison to the Commercial and Origination teams, guiding clients through NET Power's technology licensing journey.
  • Engage with prospective licensees to comprehend their unique requirements, goals, and technical specifications, creating detailed technical proposals that effectively showcase the advantages of NET Power technology.
  • Conduct plant simulations using Aspen Plus and generate deliverables such as process flow diagrams, performance assessments, and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering to size and select NET Power cycle components for techno-economic optimization, ensuring cohesive interfaces among strategic subsystems.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Product Management teams to develop structured proposals.
  • Assist in the licensing process and the creation of technical exhibits in partnership with clients and suppliers.
  • Contribute to the development of next-generation products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required; BSME is preferred.
  • A Master's degree in technical or business-related fields is a plus.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Application Engineering or a related role, ideally within the power generation or petrochemical sectors, along with 7-10 years of overall engineering experience.
  • Experience in tendering multi-disciplinary engineering solutions and leveraging various internal and limited external resources.
  • Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and other pertinent engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation software is preferred (e.g., Aspen Plus/HYSYS, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Experience with CAD/PLM tools for generating comprehensive 3D models (PLM – Team Center, Wind Chill, or Enovia).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills in a multi-tasking environment are essential.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for project sites, vendor locations, and meetings with partners and stakeholders.
