Job Overview

Impinj is a leading provider of RAIN RFID solutions and Internet of Things pioneer. We're driving innovation in connecting everyday items to the Internet. With a strong focus on quality, we're seeking a skilled Quality Control Technician to join our Silicon Quality Assurance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding the highest quality standards for our products, collaborating closely with our Engineering and Quality teams to implement standard methodologies and ensure compliance.

This is an on-site role at our Beacon Hill office location in Seattle, requiring a strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect wafers for conformance manually and under a microscope, passing or rejecting them based on a pre-defined inspection criterion
  • Prepare, load, and process wafers through the automated inspection tool
  • Select appropriate wafer product to process based on daily priority from the Quality and Industrialization Lead Technician
  • Manage physical movement of non-conforming products and document non-conformance
  • Analyze significant defects and non-conformity data and work with Quality team to reduce/ eliminate quality defects
  • Work with Engineering team for wafer inspection to support New Product Development
  • Provide inspection for returned wafers (RMA) from customer claims/ticket
  • Prepare and ensure movement of material through production to shipment
  • Work on wafer cleaning machine and inspection equipment
  • Document activities in quality and manufacturing systems
  • Issue work orders for incoming production wafers
  • Other duties related to quality as assigned

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of working experience in quality inspection of small component under microscope, semiconductor inspection, electronics manufacturing and cleanroom experience
  • Associate degree in electronic technology and/or equivalent training and experience
  • Experience working on shopfloor non-conformity management is preferred
  • Knowledge of and/or working experience with Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) components
  • Troubleshooting skills at board or assembly level for electromechanical equipment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite tools; specifically, Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings preferred
  • Seeks to 'fill the gap' and is confident 'wearing many hats' in this dynamic position
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and pays close attention to detail
  • Has strong English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be able to work in person at our Beacon Hill office location
  • Willingness to work overtime hours, including Saturdays, early mornings, and/or evenings if or as needed to achieve critical deadlines or milestones
