Job Summary

Westerman, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. As an Industrial Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, adjust, calibrate, troubleshoot, test, and repair all electrical, electronic, and instrument equipment and systems.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Use rigging and welding equipment as needed to perform the craft.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and observe all safety procedures.
  • Follow good engineering practices to maintain a high level of quality workmanship.
  • Perform related work on high-voltage switchgear (480V) and distribution systems.
  • Plan and detail working procedures to determine material replacement needs and select logical approaches to troubleshooting and repair problems.
  • Answer trouble calls and make sketches of parts and layouts.
  • Design and construct adaptations and conversions of component parts.
  • Operate power trucks, man lifts, other mobile equipment, and cranes as needed.
  • Complete required records, reports, requisitions, and surveys.
  • Fabricate parts as required using machines and hand tools common to the trade.
  • Perform safety electrical lockout for all plant personnel.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Technical degree in Electrical Maintenance and Automation preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience working in an industrial maintenance electrician role, with education substituted for experience.
  • Ability to run conduit efficiently.
Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift.
  • Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a strong range of motion.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
  • Must be able to see, speak, and hear.
  • Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices.
  • Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts.
  • Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
  • Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds.
