Maintenance Technician I

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at American Water Enterprises. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of our facility and support equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine checks of equipment, facilities, and security measures as deemed appropriate by the organization/supervisor.
- Assist other employees in the performance of their work.
- Report to supervisor requirements for adequate inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
- Maintain open communication with all team members.
- Be on rotating call with other personnel and work overtime as required.
- Inform other work areas and other personnel of situations which affect company operations.
- Follow all federal, state, local and company regulations and policies.
- High school graduate or state recognized educational equivalency required.
- A degree or certificate from a two-year course of study in electricity/electronics (or related field) and/or Masters Electricians license; or at least six (6) years experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing and calibrating electrical and electronic equipment.
- Applicant must score at or above the national average on provided assessment testing.
- Valid drivers license required with the ability to pass background check.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to perform such activities as walking, stooping, lifting 75 pounds, climbing, working in damp spaces, working in closed spaces, working outdoors in all weather conditions, working on and around water treatment chemicals and feed systems with appropriate safety devices and measures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment, including multi-meters, ammeters, and calibrators. They will also be familiar with and proficient in the use of electrical/electronic test equipment.
