Job Title: Janitor (Part Time)

The San Diego Rescue Mission is a non-profit organization that provides a safe haven for men, women, and children who have experienced homelessness. We are seeking a Part Time Janitor to join our Facilities team.

Job Summary:

The Part Time Janitor will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment for both students and employees. This includes performing routine daily cleaning tasks, sanitizing restrooms, and emptying and disposing of trash. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing good customer service and building strong working relationships with the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting
  • Sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors
  • Empty and dispose of trash
  • Provide good customer service and build strong working relationships with the team
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor
  • Perform job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others
Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Minimum 6 months full-time work experience in janitorial or related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Working Conditions:

The Part Time Janitor will work in a residential setting, which consists of individuals who may have a mental or physical disability or illness. The incumbent will be expected to wear a Mission uniform daily and may be required to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
