Job Title: Maintenance Technician III - Master Electrician

Job Summary:

Wind Creek Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III - Master Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, electrical mechanical equipment, and utility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality
  • Adhere to all applicable requirements, including safety standards and local codes
  • Discuss electrical system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected
  • Adjust system controls to settings recommended by the manufacturer to balance system performance
  • Install, repair, and service electrical systems, providing assistance during emergencies
  • Recommend, develop, and perform preventive and general maintenance procedures
  • Obtain required permits, equipment, tools, and materials for projects
  • Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagrams
  • Record responses and reports all faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences
  • Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers
  • Install electrical wiring and equipment, new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects, and replace and repair wiring as needed
  • Operate a computer that controls and monitors mechanical and electrical equipment and utility systems
  • Repair electrical equipment and control circuits, replace faulty electrical switches, and repair refrigeration equipment
  • Repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security
  • Answer emergency calls quickly, assess the safety of the situation upon first arriving at the scene, and provide directions to individuals affected by the electrical emergency to ensure their continued safety and comfort
  • Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, and order parts as needed
  • Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams
  • Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats, and timers
  • Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction
  • Assemble, position, and mount heating or cooling equipment, following blueprints
  • Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturer's recommendations to ascertain the configuration of electrical systems of property equipment and ensure the proper installation of components
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe or tubing, using pipefitter's tools
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install duct work and chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools and welding equipment

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Must have and maintain a valid state-issued operator driver's license
  • Must have completed at least three (3) maintenance certificates, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician license issued by the City Electrical Contractors Board, refrigeration, controls, NFPA96, recreational water treatment, CPO (Certified Pool Operator), CSP (Certified Service Professional), CBP (Certified Building Professional), Level I Locksmith Certification
  • Must have at least five (5) years general commercial property maintenance experience
  • Must have good hearing and eyesight
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
