Job Summary

Arlington ISD is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Inclusion Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Inclusion Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing students with disabilities with the support and accommodations they need to succeed in the general education classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in the general education classroom, including accommodations and modifications as needed.
  • Work with students, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support students with challenging behaviors.
  • Participate in ARD committee meetings to develop and implement IEPs and BIPs.
  • Monitor and report student progress to parents and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with disabilities in the general education classroom, including assistive technology and other accommodations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsements.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in inclusive settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers and other staff members.
  • Knowledge of and experience with assistive technology and other accommodations for students with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience working with students with severe disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with positive behavioral supports and interventions.
Working Conditions

The Special Education Inclusion Teacher will work in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms, special education classrooms, and other district facilities. The teacher will be required to lift and move students with disabilities as needed, and may be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
