Job Title: Employee Benefits Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Benefits Team Lead to join our team at Lyons Companies. As a key member of our Employee Benefits department, you will be responsible for overseeing the retention department and managing team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Vet and manage department resources with the Employee Benefits Practice Leader.
  • Expand and manage the department's scope of services with the Employee Benefits Practice Leader.
  • Support sales efforts, including RFPs, proposal development, and presentations.
  • Maintain client and carrier relationships.
  • Manage a book of business with a service team.
  • Evaluate employee benefit programs and make recommendations to improve their effectiveness.
  • Participate in and facilitate strategic planning.
Requirements:
  • Life and Health Insurance license is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in a related field of study.
  • 10+ years of experience consulting on employee benefit programs.
  • Expertise in medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disability, and other ancillary benefits is required.
  • Experience in employee benefit services for clients up to 1,000 lives is required.
  • Knowledge of self-funding, consortiums, and captives is preferred.
  • Leadership and management experience is required.

  • Strong project management, analytical, and consulting skills.
  • Attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet projected deadlines.
  • Ability to complete continuing education requirements.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information.
  • Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings, including industry training sessions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong time management skills.
Technology:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) experience is required.
  • Applied EPIC or other agency management software experience is preferred but not required.
