Why This Role is Important

This position is integral to the Airline Partner Analytics team, situated within the Network Analysis sector of the larger Network Planning organization.

The responsibilities encompass evaluating new airline partnership prospects for American Airlines and enhancing the effectiveness of current collaborations. You will tackle intricate revenue, network, and loyalty analysis projects, while engaging in various initiatives that bolster our commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the performance of current partnerships, investigate new opportunities, and devise innovative solutions that promote continuous enhancement of American Airlines' network.
  • Build relationships and facilitate discussions with stakeholders across the organization and with airline partners, focusing on delivering long-term value to American Airlines.
  • Communicate analyses, strategies, and outcomes to various levels of the organization, both internally and with airline partners.
  • Develop and track the effectiveness of revenue strategies and initiatives, including pricing, yield management, network planning, sales, finance, loyalty programs, and marketing efforts.
  • Employ statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and other analytical techniques to interpret data and formulate practical solutions to business challenges.
  • Ensure that the Network Analysis team possesses the necessary tool knowledge and is prepared for future developments.
  • Align teams around commercial strategies, key objectives, and success metrics, maintaining clear communication and ensuring the completion of cross-functional actions.
  • Adapt complex ideas for communication to both junior and senior audiences.
  • Validate models to ensure their adequacy, define data requirements, and gather and verify information, applying judgment and statistical tests.
  • Create performance metrics and analytical tools to enhance profitability and improve planning and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare reports and proposals, including market assessments, business plans, financial performance evaluations, network profitability analyses, fleet plans, and capital expenditure requests.
  • Analyze data from various sources, such as booking trends, fleet assessments, market dynamics, ROI analyses, performance metrics, budget evaluations, profitability statistics, and marketing outcomes.

Qualifications for Success

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, SQL, and SAS.
  • Experience in airline Network Planning, Revenue Management, Commercial, or analytical roles.
