Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automotive Technology Instructor to join our faculty team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As an Automotive Technology Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of automotive technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials and courses in automotive technology.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students to ensure their success in the program.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to develop and implement curriculum and program improvements.
  • Stay current with industry developments and advancements in automotive technology.
  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees and activities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Automotive Technology or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or training.
  • Current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in relevant areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience in a community college or vocational setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard tools and equipment.
  • Ability to obtain a VA State Inspection License.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position. The successful candidate will be required to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
