We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Classroom Aide to join our team at Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services. As a Classroom Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and development of young children, working closely with our experienced teachers and staff to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in providing high-quality child development services to children aged zero to five years.
- Support the preparation of meals and snacks for children, as well as assist with kitchen clean-up.
- Engage in various tasks related to child development, as directed by teaching staff.
- Prepare activities, supplies, and environments as indicated by teaching staff.
- Attend and participate in staff development opportunities to ensure professional growth and development.
- Adhere to all state, local, and federal regulations, as well as program procedures for reporting child abuse.
- Assist in creating an environment that respects the unique needs and backgrounds of individual children.
- Support parents and volunteers as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate of Arts Degree in Early Child Development Education, Psychology, Social Science, or a related field.
- Valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
- One year of experience working or volunteering with children under the age of five.
- Successful completion of an initial health examination and proof of absence of Tuberculosis.
- Documentation of current immunizations against Influenza, Mumps, Measles, and Rubella (MMR) and Pertussis (TDAP).
- Fingerprint clearances from the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Child Abuse Index.
- Completed and signed statement of any pending and/or prior criminal arrests/charges/convictions related to child sexual abuse, child abuse and neglect, and/or violent felonies.
- Verification of eligibility for employment in the United States of America.
- A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation to perform position duties.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
