Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Class A driver to join our team at Golden State Foods. As a Class A driver, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering products to our customers in a safe and timely manner.



Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:


  • Operating a diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination truck to transport and deliver products to customers.
  • Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicles in difficult situations.
  • Inspects trucks for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck conditions.
  • Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations and other federal and company required records/logs.
  • May be required to perform product backhaul when returning from dispatched route.
  • Unloads/loads product at store with no assistance from store personnel.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • A valid driver's license and current DOT Medical certification card.
  • One (1) year driving tractor-trailer experience, preferably with refrigerated truck and tough freight experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain positive customer relations.
  • The ability to stand, walk, and repeatedly climb into and out of road tractor or switch tractor.
  • Flexibility to work all necessary work schedules, including holidays and weekends.
  • The ability to safely operate equipment in extremes of weather and climatic conditions.
  • The ability to frequently lift/handle cases at a minimum of 75 pounds continuously.


This is a full-time union position that requires initiation fees and/or union dues.
