Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

At The Village Health & Rehabilitation, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents, in accordance with their assessment and care plan. This includes performing personal care activities, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, as well as assisting with household services and promoting a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the nurse.
  • Provide personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist with household services, such as meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping.
  • Initiate and participate in leisure activities and encourage socialization among residents.
  • Observe and document the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting any changes to the nurse.
  • Promote personal safety and a safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices and reporting any unsafe situations to the nurse.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. You must also be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public. A licensed Certified Nursing Assistant or Medication Assistant is required, with a preference for 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Working Conditions

This position requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with occasional bending, stooping, and twisting. You must be able to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, and work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
