Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Migration:

  • Develop and execute a migration strategy from VMware to Proxmox.
  • Assess the current VMware infrastructure and plan for minimal disruption.

System Management:

  • Install and configure Proxmox VE.
  • Maintain and optimize Proxmox and Linux servers.
  • Integrate Proxmox with existing VMware systems during migration.
  • Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Document migration processes, configurations, and procedures.
Technical Requirements:

  • Expertise in Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and virtualization technologies.
  • Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Proficient in managing Proxmox VE, including installation, configuration, and ongoing management.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring tools and systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
  • Experience with integrating Proxmox and VMware environments and handling VM data migration.
  • Experience:
  • Proven success in migrating from VMware to Proxmox.
  • Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (Bash, Python).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications (RHCE, VCP, Proxmox).
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
