Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Utah Transit Authority. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Use various skilled trades to repair, build, or remodel new physical structures, including electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, mechanical, and construction work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and general maintenance of all physical facilities and associated support equipment.
  • Complete daily work orders and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Operate company vehicles, trucks, vans, forklifts, lifting equipment, backhoes, snow removal equipment, and other equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of supervised work experience in one or more of the following areas: Facilities Maintenance at the Journeyist Level, Electrical at the Master or Journeyist level, HVAC/Refrigeration installation/Repair/Trouble shooting at the Journeyist level, or Plumbing at the Master or Journeyist Level.
  • Graduation from a UTA-approved Trade Program or completion of an apprenticeship program and obtained an Electrician's or Plumber's Utah State License.
  • Must pass a qualifying exam.
  • Must own a complete set of standard hand tools, as listed on the Class A/Journeyist tool list.
  • Must be able to pass a required DOT card and obtain a Class A CDL driver's license by the end of the probationary period.
  • Must have a valid Utah driver's license and be a safe driver with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • Cannot have any violations of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last 10 years.
  • Must be able to work some overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Must be proficient at a basic level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in one or more of the following areas: electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or construction.
  • Familiarity with the working application and safe use of all power tools and instruments used in facilities maintenance.
  • Maintenance and repair of hydraulic/pneumatic systems and other related equipment.
  • Working knowledge of welding, brazing, and soldering.

Work Schedule

Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with Friday/Saturday OR Sunday/Monday off OR 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with Friday/Saturday off. Shift and days off subject to change.

Pay Rate

$34.36 per hour.
